Popular Chester County Artist, Richard Bollinger, has partnered with Wendell August to create a new line of bronze and aluminum ornaments for the 2011 Holiday Season. These limited edition ornaments depict some of Bollinger’s most popular winter scenes.

Small Business Saturday – Nov. 26

Saturday, November 26th is Small Business Saturday. It’s a day to celebrate small businesses around the country and a way to encourage people to shop locally with small businesses in their community.

This event is put on by American Express, and as a way to encourage people to shop with small businesses you can register your American Express card online to receive a $25 statement credit when you spend $25 or more at a small business on the 26th.

At Studio 3 we are proud to be a locally owned small business and we hope that on Saturday you stop by to use your American Express card during this special event!

Frames on Bookshelves

One of the popular looks in framing this year is displaying framed pieces on Bookshelves. Not only is this look great with pairing books and art on a shelf, but another popular trend is to actually hang your framed pieces from the shelves.

Studio 3 updates it’s look

You may have noticed that the facade of Studio 3 is looking a little bit different lately. That’s because after Hurricane Irene destroyed some of our awnings we decided to upgrade things a bit.

Our bright green awnings have been replaced with black ones for a sleeker look. We hope you like the changes, and as always we’ll continue the tradition of our colorful window displays that have been a fixture in Downingtown for over 3 decades.

New Bollinger Print – Red Canoes

Richard Bollinger’s newest fall painting is entitled “Red Canoes” and is now available for purchase in the shop.

The description from the artist reads:

Drifting south and winding its way through farms and past tree lined vistas, the old river suddenly veers off sharply revealing this quiet cove. With just enough good footing along its banks to safely come ashore, it seemed the perfect place to tie up, kick back and relax.

A pair of bright red canoes, like a beacon, marked the spot and captured the attention and imagination of artist Richard Bollinger. Their brilliant vermillion hulls, reflected in the still waters, and the rich variegated greens of the forest together formed a wonderful palette for this most recent watercolor.

“Red Canoes” has been faithfully reproduced from the original painting on the finest acid free paper. Each impression has been personally signed and numbered by the artist.

Downingtown Fall Fest

Tomorrow (October 2, 2011) is the second annual Downingtown Fall Festpresented by Victory Brewing. This year’s event is going to be bigger and better than ever. Enjoy food from local restaurants, goods from local businesses, and tons of other crafts and goodies. This year’s Victory Brewing Company Beer Garden will be expanded to make it even easier to enjoy delicious beers.

The free to attend event features live music, a BMX aerial show, red carpet treatment from DowningtownDish.com and much more.

Bring the family and celebrate FallFest from 12-4pm on Sunday! Free to attend. Pay as you go.

Also make sure you stop by Downingtown Log Cabin Craft Fair from 10-3pm at Kerr Park. Studio 3 will be open on Sunday from 12-3pm! Stop in the meet Ammo the Dachshund, famous painting dog!
